Description:
This is a recreation of the Hanafuda set shown in Van Rensselaer's 1890 "Devil's Picture Book". Although it is in the standard Hachi-Hachi-bana pattern, it has minor stylistic differences. Additionally, there was a white joker card, which has been reproduced. As it was scanned from an old book and not directly from cards, the images do show some wear, but the beauty of the cards shines through.
