Description:
This is a reimagining of the 1950s Hawaiian version of Hanafuda invented by Frank and Flora Kang. They swapped the month suits with aspects of the Hawaiian Islands using Frank's own oil paintings of fruit, fish buildings and people. Our version follows their categories, but uses Max Ernst-style borrowed imagery from dictionaries and illustrated journals of the 19th century. We have named our version in their honour. We have added index markers and set indicators.
