Description:
This is a recreation of the Hanafuda set depicted at the end of Inouye Jukichi's 1911 "Home Life In Tokyo" as "a set of Flower Cards". Although it is in the standard Hachi-Hachi-bana pattern, it has minor stylistic differences which serve as a waypoint in the development of the modern style. As it was scanned from an old book and not directly from cards, the images do show some wear, but the beauty of the cards shines through.
