Denise Berkes-SanchezAs a therapist I saw a need for some fun and diverse tools to help with emotion coaching. I found some tools online but they were not nearly diverse enough or whimsical enough to be considered interesting to me. I decided I would have to make something on my own. These cards are tools to help increase emotional intelligence in a variety of ways; by helping with emotion coaching, by presenting different facial expressions for kids to try and identify, by introducing a broader vocabulary to increase the ability to communicate emotion both verbally and in written form.
The emotions are comic but none the less relatable and identifiable however some images are intentionally vague and that is by design. I've created 10 Cards that are just emotion words, the "Feelings" cards. There are 10 question "?" cards to get kids thinking and talking about emotions. I encourage you to add your own questions. The remainder of the cards are "Faces" cards with diverse ethnicities and different genders.
